I recently purchased said desk as it has the capability to record 16 channel simultaneously via Firewire and USB and also direct to a USB stick. However, where previously I had no problems with my Roland Quad Capture UA55, all is not well with the UFX1604.
I am now experiencing dropouts and occasionally heavy distortion on playback via both FW and USB though I think it runs marginally better via USB.
This desk also has transport controls which supposedly can talk to the DAW, but for the life of me I can't get my head around how to set this feature up. Please can anyone help.

New MOTU 896mk3 Hybrid received today from M/F.  Checked out OK. 
But, still waiting for refund from other company in NYC.
