While I tried Duckbar and thought it was cool, I really like what you are doing with your theme editor. I presume it will save themes as Sonar theme files?

Regards,
Dan

Yes, it will be 100% Sonar themes compatible.

Luckily file format of Duckbar's themes is almost identical to Sonar's themes; both are basically DLL files. I already have ready to use library of functions to read/write theme files. :)

I assume that your themes will be in Duckbar?  All your work is always top notch.

Thanks, Clint

Yes, of course!
I'll convert all old Duckbar themes to the official theme format. Duckbar Theme Editor will read x1mod and x4mod files (Duckbar's themes) and they can be saved as SONAR Themes.

Duckbar Theme Editor newsletter 4

Screen capture: Still very early version -- GUI changes all the time.

Development develops....

My primary reason to design my own Theme Editor was to feature easy to use batch processing tools to tweak graphics and colors. It is too slow to edit all 886 PNG images one by one. Many graphics resources are very similar and they can be batch processed. Today I made different selection methods to grab images; you can select them by category, size, width, height and group (more coming).  Selected images can be imported, exported, copied from original theme, cleared from the theme. You can also  batch adjust hue, brightness, saturation, transparency, etc. - not only colors!

Cakewalk's Theme Editor has a nice explorer view with many view options. I can't afford purchasing that expensive control ($1000 unless coded by myself). For now I decided to omit explorer view; if you like it, you can use Cakewalk's Theme Editor. However, I guarantee that Duckbar Theme Editor allows you to make things faster.

"Group" column: I'll make predefined groups (like similar buttons, backgrounds etc) but you can assign any graphics/colors to groups.

Screen capture 2: You can append (combine) themes and import old Duckbar themes

Screen capture 3: Adjustments for selected color(s)

Schedule: no ETA yet. This will take 2-6 weeks, depending on how busy I am in my studio.

Hello Mr. Panup, this might not be the best place for this, and somebody probably already made the request, but...

I think it would be cool to make a theme editor that could change the color of a button, fader, module, or strip as the signal level got close to clipping. I imagine it would be tied to the meter level, and as it rode the green all the selected buttons would be green, when it rode the yellow, a button would be yellow.  Or you could make a whole strip respond to the output signal, then it would be easier to see.  If a complete strip flashed red when a clip pushed to clipping it would be easier to catch those errant overs.  Like a big picture vs. that tiny meter.

If you could assign it to a specific prochannel module the whole module would change color or hue with the amplitude.

Call it a chameleon control.

Jesse,
unfortunately theme editor can not change graphics in the way you described; you should send a feature request directly to Cakewalk instead!
