  • Does Anyone Else Want Craig's Chord Library? [Sorry, No More Download Link]

I was reading the most recent e-zine about the latest Sonar release and saw Craig's article about making a "Chord Library" I realized early on that I did not have the necessary tools to create this but still was interested in being able to use it. So I asked Craig if he was interested in sharing this with our community. Please check out the e-zine and let Cakewalk or Craig know what the interest is.

[Edit from Craig: The download link referenced in Post #46 is no longer available. This was meant more as a limited time proof of concep. I expect to develop it further.]

I replied on his "does anyone read the eZine" thread and said the same thing.
how ever, I believe Craig built this chord library as his own personal secret weapon and sharing it with us would leave him no other choice but to terminate us.

I think Craig should release his entire arsenal of songwriting tools to this community.  Gratis, of course

Everyone should be able to make their own chords easily.
Better and easier than being  a cut and paste merchant!!

I think they should consider developing something in the MIDI realm like this.  Look at EZKeys as the general concept.

For me, the value as "WAV" files would be dramatically less, and this is the impression I get of what Craig developed.

A MIDI based tool means you can create it to sound like virtually any instrument and also easily manipulate variations.  (Yes, I own Melodyne 4 studio)

It would seem such a tool could be far less cluttered than all of those Wav files to pick from.  The "Wheel" in EZKeys being a good concept of general simplicity that offers any chord in basically a couple clicks.

"Furthermore, whenever I demo the Chord Library at workshops, people want to know where they can get it. You can’t, so this article shows how to create your own."

There must be a midi chord library, but I can see how a guitar chord library would be useful

We could use a chord track similar to the one in Cubase....great feature, I put in a feature request a couple of years ago, a lot of support from users, but still no chord chart for Splat.  Great tool for songwriters and guitar players who are not proficient on the keyboard.

This was awesome, but stopped working when everything went 64 bit in Sonar.  (even with wrapper no work)

I still fire up reaper once in a while to use this it is so unique.  (still works in 64 bit reaper, no idea why)

That ;ppks cool I put in a feature request about 2 years back under my old acount 'Scoot' basically asking cake to develop create a one not midi chord [;ayer that was an amalgmation of  Insert Piz's MidiChords and EZKeys circle of fith harmony creator with the ability to open and close chord voicing. chamge the root. I've since thought that adding the ability to set ranges so parts of cords could be routed to different channels, so bas not played from one synth, middle and upp notes to others. These could go via arpegiators along the way. I've been meaning to knock up a faux UI image to explain it better.
