  • Is there any way to turn off the mouse wheel pan and volume in Console view?

I would like to turn off the mouse wheel so it does not affect volume and pan in Console view.
Is there any way to do it?

I use the mouse wheel to scroll the Console view. Every once in a while, as I'm scrolling the Console up or down
I inadvertently change a pan or volume and mess up my mix - usually without realizing it until later.

I don't think it's possible...

I have done this many times, too..

I had suggested a while back for a quick simple way to lock these controls or track in console because of this exact reason, the suggestion was to right click on the control (pan/volume) and select "value" and "set snap to the established level, so if and when you realize you've inadvertently moved these, double clicking (left) they will revert back to the snap level set. Otherwise if you could turn off the mouse wheel perhaps in Windows control panel, then you wouldn't be able to scroll console either, lol. I believe I also suggested then that perhaps a function, say like, holding ctrl/alt or shift while scrolling mouse wheel would only scroll console, regardless of where pointer may be.
I guess ultimately answer was good luck with that, LOL.

Cheers

They must have listened because that is a current feature. Right click a knob and click "value" then "set snap-to = current". Then when you double click the knob it goes to the level you set. As far as the OP I have this issue too, which I plan to resolve with a bigger monitor - ultimately not having to scroll the page is probably the best fix.

P.S. MY "fix" suggestion would be a "fit to screen" command that made the current view as small as necessary to display all without scrolling being necessary.

EDITED: Duh! there IS a fit to screen command - a "fit project" button is one of the defaults in the "custom" module. There you go...

A larger monitor only makes everything in window larger (I use a fairly large 32" as main monitor), but doesn't prevent need to scroll console, if also needing to view any track(s) at same time. Ideally having 2 monitors and undocking console into second monitor may be an option, (or maybe a 50" monitor LOL), as I usually like to use my second monitor to have my audio interfaces mixer in view.
Somewhat related it would be good if tracks view could also be undocked.

I would never use the scroll wheel for that reason

Well the fit project button didn't work like I thought it would. My set up at home has a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor and the console view doesn't need to be scrolled. My set up at the studio has a 16:9 aspect ratio monitor and it must be scrolled, even with "fit project". Today I will try a 4:3 monitor at the studio and see if console fits...

Wouldn't that depend on how many tracks or sends you are using?

I bet AHK could capture the MW to prevent it from doing anything, but that would likely only be possible for all of SONAR, so if you wouldn't be able to use the MW in other parts of SONAR.
