Apologies if this is something obvious that I just should know . . .

Using the keyboard, not the mouse, how does one scroll horizontally in the clips pane without zooming either in or out?

I guess I never felt the need to do this before, but I'm now working on projects with a small number of very long tracks.

As I go through the long tracks to clean them up and break them up, it would be really nice to be able to scroll via the keyboard without having to "accordion" the waveform in and out.

There's got to be a way, right? Maybe my searches didn't get anywhere because I'm not correctly naming the action I'm describing. If that's the case, what should it be called in proper Sonarese?

Ctrl + scroll?
I think that's what you want

To scroll from the keyboard, I usually use Next/Previous Measure Ctrl+PgDn/Up. This moves the Now time as well as scrolling the view. I re-mapped this to be just PgDn/Up for moving by measures, and Ctrl+PgDn/Up are Next/Previous Marker.

That does the trick!  Muchos gracias!

This move is not on my (probably outdated) list of keyboard shortcuts, although the next/previous marker move is. Your re-mapping idea is also useful. Thanks twice!
