When customers are complaining and Company lays off their customer support staff, disconnects their phone from the public, then starts asking for money in the future for services not rendered (lifetime support) or delivered (updates & upgrades) I'm just sayin' ....they are floating on thin ice...

Yes, Bob, we get it. But unless you have a current copy of Cakewalk's P&L statement...[snip]

He obviously doesn't, or his post would say "Is Cakewalk a publicly traded company? Can I buy stock?"

Actually you have your tense construction messed up.

They asked for money in the past for services that have been rendered and delivered.
They are asking for money in the present for services that are currently being rendered and delivered (see the September early release thread).

You're almost two years too late to join the "Cakewalk will never be able to deliver on their promise of monthly updates, and besides, now that they have our money there's no incentive to deliver updates" naysayers. That's sooooooo January 2015.

(Ever notice none of those people ever return and say "Boy, was I wrong! Didn't turn out like that at all!"?)

Could be because many of them aren't using SPAT? But an older version?

You know I had forgotten about that point. It should be shouted from the roof tops! But then we shouldn't rub it in or should we?

I think if we all would still be using Sonar 8, the company would be floating on thin ice.
Luckily most of us are using Platinum. Good program, you should try it.

Another point worth mentioning for those who aren't familiar with how business works is that companies that want to "strip 'n flip" (or are about to go under) don't make long-term investments - like hiring more support staff, hiring more engineers, and putting out job postings for additional positions, all of which Cakewalk is doing.

sorry you feel that way Bob. however, a lot of us are very happy with the way things are going here right now.
there is always room for improvement, but I have to say, Platinum is a great DAW and it registers through Command Center, so no hunting down those old registration numbers (that you cant seem to get working).

Customer support is working fine, my guess is they are not answering you because your trying to get help for a version of sonar that's 5 versions old.

Good luck.
