Wow, did not know there were that many users of Fader Port.  Transport controls work as designed?  And Automation?  I would primarily use it for automation writes (especially volume).  But if the transport controls work, the space bar of my keyboard would get a lot less use!

Yes and Yes to your two questions.

Well, saved my pennies and got a refurbished one...
I have written a volume automation with it.  I can see the fader move in the software when I move the physical fader.  Same with Pan.  Transport works OK. I haven't tried punching in or recording.

The only thing (so far) I can't seem to get to work is the motorized fader.

Is there some kind of magic you have to do to get that to work?

Maybe it's firmware, considering you have a refurb

Make sure you have enabled key aftertouch and channel aftertouch in preferences. The power supply also needs to be connected for the motorized fader to work. I would also close and re-open Sonar after you edit the preferences.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out, but the motorized fader won't work off port power, it's gotta have the wallwart plugged in.

First thing I did was update Firmware...I will check, but it said it was successful.
Wall wart is indeed plugged in.  I will try another outlet though.
