Thanks, John!   Flute solo, huh... I can actually picture that.     In regards to differences in recording "technique", do you mean something like this?

LOL  The funny thing about this pic is that I owned a fan back wicker chair and only sold it on Craig's List a few years ago.  Hard to believe but I got a 100 bucks for it!  One of those things left behind in the house by the previous owner.  Had I known Wakeman sat in one I would have kept it with my prog rock collection.

Love it!  The opening reminds of Kansas, 'He Knew', and then carries into its own identity.  The guitar is a little like Steve Howe, some of the instrumental key breaks are like Genesis, but overall it is its own sound.
Great job!

Thanks, cwestmont!   Yeah, you pretty much nailed the influences/inspiration for those sections.   I appreciate that you feel it still has its own sound though, since those influences are/were strong.

Hey SteveC,

Wow! I love this ... so involved and yet so uncluttered-sounding. At times, it sounded like Celtic progressive, if that's a genre (and if it's not, it should be!). It's so well recorded, great drums, great lead voice, guitar solo, keys, harmonies, lyrics, giant bells of some kind just in the juiciest spots ... so much to enjoy and admire. The rhythmic juxtapositions were maybe my favourite feature. And whoo, that ending was just the ticket!

So, in summary, I liked it (did you guess that?) and was very happy to push on the little heart icon :)

Everything said above, with a little Tull thrown in for good measure. I think this is a really cool track Steve! Love the time changes, and the entire vibe. Great job on this!

This took me back to those heady days of sitting crossed pawed on some head's bedroom floor, with a gentle blue fog hanging about 18" to 2' off the floor.

Excellent stuff Steve I can hear all those 70's influences Yes, Genesis, sweet thanks for sharing and

Thanks, Wooks!  I'm glad those influences are coming through strong.  Although, I have no idea what you mean by those heady days with a gentle blue fog hanging over the ground.   Or do I...

I sat, bobbing my head during this whole song  Great song!
Loved the breaks
Nice and balanced mix.
All the best.

Thanks, Ken!   While head bobbing wasn't necessarily a focus with this one, it makes me happy to know that it went there anyway.

Hey Steve, although this song isn't among my favorites of your songs (and I'm such a fan of your work), I think that the performances, arrangement, mix and such on this are superb -- super creative and a blast to hear!...

Thanks, Allan!  Yeah, this isn't necessarily as "technical" as some of my other prog-influenced tunes, but regardless I'm glad to know that the end result is still in the same creative ballpark.

18 years, huh?  Doesn't even come close to my record, Steve .  Seriously though, this was great... very true to form.  Loved the guitar and keyboard riffs.  Great production work too.

Thanks, Phil!  Appreciate that.  This isn't the only older tune I have in the backlog, but I trust that "not even close" means just a little longer.

Yeah, I remember those...   Just more flashbacks.

This I like! Wonderful it must be to finally get this old idea together. This is very well done. It is easy to go crazy with the beat and harmonies just because you are thinking prog, but you get it together very nice. I was waiting for some speedy Collins 7/8 drumgroove in the end... Love the tubular bells!

Thanks, Laura!!   Huh, Celtic progressive.... I like it.      And thanks for noticing, well, pretty much every little detail!  Including the rhythmic aspects and the big juicy bells (did I write that out loud?).

Thanks, Dan!   Ah... I hadn't really thought of it, but maybe the Celtic thing Laura refers to is that bit of JT.   I think I'm quite OK with that.
