Boy, this took me way back to when my wife and I lived in Toronto and listened to all the "hippie music" (as my dad called it) on CHUM radio.  You really captured the sound and spirit of prog-rock of that era. The melody is great as is your production and performance on this number.  Very nicely done!!!

Thanks, Freddy!   As another long-time fan of "hippie" music I'm glad that the spirit (and melody!) comes across.

wow...brings back some ELP for me...so fun....love it. Great job all the way round!

Thanks, Tom!   Cool, an ELP quote too.

This is excellent - I am reminded of Big Big Train in places, probably a case of not being infulenced by them by you having the same influnces as them

Thanks, Glyn!  Huh, now I'm going to have to Google Big Big Train...

I think Tarkus and Stand Up will be my sound track for the day.
Very nice.
Thanks!

Thanks, Andy!   Genesis was definitely a strong influence on this one.  Although, while I kept looking and looking, I just couldn't find that little Squonk.

Obviously not - it had long since dissolved into a pool of bubbles and tears.  ;-)

I hate when that happens... though not as much as he does.

Great job Steve! Really enjoyed that listen. Everything was done so well. I could crank this one up loud and it was very well balanced in my room. Longed for more bottom but that is common where I sit.

Thanks, Jimmy!   I do not object to loud.       I actually did have a bit more lows the first time around, but it almost seemed to heavy for the genre.  Hmm...

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this piece, which I have just stumbled across. 100% my sweet spot - great prog interest throughout and yet instantly accessible - that takes some doing. I saw a comment about a flute solo - yeah, Mr Anderson could have written this around the War Child era I think! More recently, a great example of complex yet catchy and brilliantly melodic all at the same time is Judas Unrepentant by Big Big Train - you are up there with these guys, love it!

Thanks, Bill!   I do sometimes find it "easier" (relatively speaking) to go more technical with less focus on melody, so I appreciate the comments!    I really need to investigate Big Big Train a bit more though - I really don't know much about them.

Thanks, Daniel!   Many of my tunes are definitely prog influenced, but this one was intended to be of that era.  Glad to know that the mix translated well.

Yea Steve - that is really some good writing. All the instruments sound great - mix seems really nice. This one took me back - loved it.
