Kevin, I really like this song. Nicely played, arranged, mixed and sung. I had a listen to your other songs and I think you have a great voice. You sell yourself a bit short there.
Little Cloud is a beautiful song and your choice of guitar tones is perfect.
If I had to pick anything, I would say that the snare drum was perhaps a little too "live", but then again, maybe that's what you wanted.
Great work.

Cheers

Wal, thanks for the feedback! I also appreciate your kind words about my vocal parts, it's been a challenge to hang myself out there and it's good to hear that all the work is helping some. The arrangement is one I like, very few instruments and lots of space. Easy-peasey. :)

I also welcome your input on the drums, it's the hardest part of a song for me to figure out. I wanted them present but not obtrusive. I wanted a natural sounding snare and an old school kick. I agree with you that it's too lively, and I also think I missed some opportunities for it to help move the song upward in places.

Really nice song Kevin. Indeed, lush vocals and rich guitar work. Nicely put together. Moody. Really has every thing going for it. If I were playing around with this, I would try fooling around with the tone of the kick-sounds a little on the tubby side to me. Somethings towards a thump perhaps. But really Kevin, It's all a matter of taste at the moment-nothing critical. I loved the tune and you sir have Talent and that bleeds through-regardless.

:44 does the drum beat come in too early? It cuts off that nice pause you have there.
:50 crackle

I like the song, and the vulnerability of it all. You have a challenge of sparseness - I think the easier songs are ones where you can slather tracks and effects all over the place. It's much harder I think to have things exposed in a sparse mix.

You vocal harmonies are absolutely spot on, mixed at a perfect level. The guitar solo has a harmony section which shines as well. Harmony is a strength of yours, apparently!

2:46 do those tings arrive at the same time? Or are you going for a "live" feel in which case, nevermind!

nice fuzzy little cloud!

Tom, thanks for the detailed feedback! I hear the crackle too, maybe something happened while rendering the final wav. I do like a live feel, but don't want to be sloppy about it, so thanks for pointing out that little gaff with the drums and later in the tune with the miscues. My skill level with guitar and bass is of course evolving but it's hard for me to be as precise as I want to be so everything tends to sound kind of "live."

Thanks, Dean, I appreciate your feedback. I think your comment about the kick does highlight that the drums are a weak spot in this tune. I want the old-school kick sound but thump is good too. When I used a thumpier patch for kick it changed the character of the song too much. In the end, I think the issue with the kick is that it's not mixed right to lock in with the bass as well as it could be doing.

Thanks for listening and most importantly, thanks for your critique.

This has very pleasant laid back vibe, which sounds well done, here.  As Wookiee vocals kill at a Par Sec I avoid commenting on vocals but they sounded fine here and more importantly real.  (By that I mean not processed to hell and back)

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Wookie. Oh yeah, they're real alright. Five gazillion takes later. :)

hey kw, the amount of effort you put into this is evident.

I like the subdued nature of the track, especially the guitar at 1:30.  I real like the snare sound you are using.  The vocals around 2:15 are excellent.

fuzzy little cloud!!!

that little pause there, at 2:49, just slays me.

very nice  easily a song that I could listen to on an all night drive across the Arizona dessert.

really, that is good, I am going to listen to it again, right now.

Hey Kevin ,

Overall your song  sounds Great .I feel like I'm listening to a proper song with real sweet vocals and a track that supports the vocals in a proper true way that music is supposed to support a singer as the singer sings  .

As you can probably tell , I don't get out much    the music I listen most of the time to is all instrumental

FWIW, I did hear all the artifacts .They didn't bother me all that much at all .
I almost wonder what would happen if you decided to use a plugin that made it sound as if your song was actually  a vinyl record

all the best,

Kenny
