MGC59
I listened to it on my Yamaha NS-10s in my studio...they do tend to be light in the bottom..
I always check my mixes on as many types of listening devices possible...(of course I didn't do that here...)
I should have been more clear....beefing up was a poor choice of words...The drums just need to have as much presence and quality as the rest of the mix...imo
Of course the change I am suggesting is really, really tiny...like sending the drum mix to a separate stereo bus with a fat compressor like a CA-2A and blend that sound back into the mix a little.
Everything you did plus the song is awesome.
gotcha MGC.....
the ns 10's require a trained ear, i remember using them way back when they first came out.
but once you got it, it's pretty good monitoring.
the drums are currently thru a parallel compressor, mixed back up into the dry mix of the regular sub busses......
but the original capture was a bit dull, so i'm having to add various amounts of high end to most all the drum tracks,
it's just a matter of finding the sweet spot.
