Hey, seems like we all need to switch. What is everyone switching to? Digital Performer? Studio One? Mixcraft?

Just curious.

I'm thinking Reaper. My first thought was Studio One but seeing as this is just a hobby for me, I can't justify the extra cost of Studio One.  I'll need to carry on with SONAR for now as I can't afford any type of paid alternative right now. But I've heard many good things about Reaper and so it seems like a good choice.

I ended up with Studio One 3 because the crossgrade offer was so good.  Magix is having a great sale on Sampletude as well, though I haven't bough that one.  I also am taking a hard look at Reaper.

Studio One.

Check out bapu's BeyondCakewalk forum. A lot of us joined. There's a subforum for many of the DAW choices. It'll be a good home when Gibson finally shuts this forum down. They had no interest in saving SONAR, so I have no doubt that they have also no interest in saving this forum.

Mixcraft Pro 8 and Sound Forge 11, because thy are both very easy to use and sound great. I bought lots of others but these two work the best on my computer. I will be using Digital Performer once in a while after I learn how to use it.

I have bought Cubase Pro because it appears to have the best MIDI features. I will learn it while continuing to use Sonar then at some point it will become my main DAW.
