MANTRASKY
I have a MCU Pro Surface Controller and the recent Windows 10 Update has caused the "Master Volume" to Stop working? The Slider would go to the bottom which would turn off the audio and no response from clicking on, or touching to activate. I can use the mouse and move the slider and the audio-volume would go up & down. I've "Recover" from windows update and that would fix the problem by deleting the update until Windows Updates again, then same issue. Just wondering if anyone has had this and if you could share the fix, (also Not: Drivers, Audio Interface, Hardware and I haven't added any new software).

Thank You!

How are you connecting the MCU?

Can you try connecting using MIDI?

The issue is with Windows update and Cakewalk sonar program, The controller "IS" MIDI.

I have an MC (the original) and I do have it connected by MIDI using din cables. I don't see the issue you have. I am running Windows 10 64 bit with the update. Thats why I asked.

what are you connecting the DIN cables to John? i.e., what midi interface are you using? WHat happens if you connect the MC via USB, can you reproduce the issue?

(and maybe (especially as a host!) you should have this info in your forum sig?)

Technical background, so you understand why I am asking following questions.
MCU (Pro) is a SIMPLE MIDI device, from Windows/Sonar perspective it looks like a MIDI keyboard. Buttons are sending Notes, Encoders are sending Control Changes, Fader are Pitch Bend controls. Master fader send/react on Pitch Bend Channel 9.

And now questions, which can help to spot the reason:
1) when the fader is moving? When you switch on MCU, when you start Sonar or when you open a project ?
2) create a project WITHOUT any MIDI/Instrument tracks. Can you reproduce the behavior?
3) in Sonar preferences, Control Surfaces, remove MackieControl. Still see the problem?
4) try the method from http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3284949 Does that changes the observation?

The MCU and the MC are different in that the MC has no USB port. Therefore the only way to connect is via MIDI cables to a MIDI port. I have 2 CW MIDI ports.

Because you are using the USB on the MCU be sure you have the latest drivers for it.

yes, but what PC interface hosts the MIDI ports you connect to? sorry if that wasn't clearly the question
