I would like a better File New with more options, and I don't think it would be a big investment in programming/debugging.
 
Please let me choose the sample rate and bit depth at the very least, and possibly other options such as stem format (wave, flac, ...)
 

There could be options for sample rate and recording bit depth, however; the sample rate is not fixed until the first audio track is recorded. Until that time the sample rate may be altered preferences. After the initial audio recording, to change the sample rate of a project requires changing the sample rate of the recorded audio, the project will follow the change to the clips. Recording bit depth may be altered anytime.
 
Output options are not set in the project at all.
