it seems that problem is solved:

* reset all vst plug ins in preferences
* remove and deactivate Waves including removing just all Waves files (search "waveshell" in Windows Explorer and just remove all containing folders
* restart
* install&activate Waves
* manual scan
* ???
* profit!

So I guess it was a Waves installation problem after all.

most likely.
i only wonder why it failed until i did reset.
this should be somehow syncronized with background scan (in case of automatic mode).

also it would be super to have i kind of log screen when opening projects

You don't always want to reset. From the documentation on VST reset:

The reason we do not forcefully run this process for upgrade installations is because performing this process will remove custom configuration settings applied to plug-ins. For example, if you configure an audio effect as a synth, this setting will be erased and you will need to reapply the setting. Please keep this in mind when performing the below steps.

I don't know if this helps but I was just about ready to smash my PC today. After 3 hours of struggle, while trying to mix tracks for work and dealing with horrible glitchiness on a machine that should never have such issues, and removing every plugin I could from my session in an elimination process (except 1...), I finally figured it out.

I had the Drawmer S73 on the mix buss. It was bypassed. I turned it back on and the machine stopped glitching. Bypassed it and the track stuttered like crazy. Removed it completely and it's fine. I emailed Softube about this today. Again, not sure if this is your issue but it could be as simple as that.

Good luck!

Thats weird. Was it bypassed in the SONAR UI or inside the Drawmer UI itself?
