Some VST3 versions of plugins do some funky things, while their VST2 counterparts work with no glitches. Might be worth testing that out.
Also, how are you fixed for being completely current with Windows Update maintenance? Some programs, like Sonar, access common shared C++ Run Time Redistributeable code libraries, and not having those or other maintenance that developers are expecting users to have on their systems - can cause weird and flaky errors too.
So - for both of the above possibilities, Sonar might be exposing issues that lie in either the flavor of a given plugin, or with missing maintenance in Windows. (not claiming this is what is happening to you - just tossing out possibilities to look into)
