Hi. I'd like to add some info about final mixes that I'm mixing down to master. Adding such info about artist, style, tempo etc is easily added to mp3's - Audacity for example - but I don't know how to do it for a wave file. Is there any way in Sonar to add such details before mixing down, so that such info becomes part of the file?

Thanks in advance.

This is NOT possible.
WAV-Files have "NO" Tags.
This is only possible by MP3, FLAC ...

When you export a WAV file from Audacity you are presented with a dialog box to enter/edit metadata.

thanks for that guys. I'll look into Audacity as the solution. Cheers

Wave files do support metadata, but there is no standard as there is for MP3, Flac, etc. There's a good chance some information you write into a wave file will be meaningful only to the application you used to write it. Of course, if the information is intended only for your own use, then that may be acceptable. Foobar 2000 can do it. It's a nifty tool you'll want to have anyway, as it has many useful audio-related functions.

There are a few programs that tag wavefiles. But the tags are not readable by any other program.
And this tags will not be converted by any other program for example by converting wav to mp3. This tags will be lost by any converting and not shown by any other program.
WAV has NO Tags.
