i agree. i love discounts, but no matter what huge discounts we get, I see more gimme gimme gimme.  I was more than happy to hand 99 to cakewalk every year. The only time i see massive gratitude is when things are practically given away. Granted, some things are overpriced, but the simple solution is to patronize a more reasonable competitor

Look at how Reaper is treated.  It is often listed as a freebie.  Even when listed as paid, the $60 license is the only one mentioned despite many actually falling in the category of commercial license price.I have seen several guys who run commercial operations here mention using reaper and $60 price but figured not worth the fight

I believe you. While I haven't seen Reaper promoted as free (other than the unlimited demo period), I often see the $60 price tag touted. I've not looked into it, but I think you're right about that license not covering commercial usage.

I learned the hard way this forum gets very upset if you mention something is not actually supposed to be free or that the process used to obtain something is highly unethical and bordering on thievery. Love these guys but a lot feel highly entitled.  Don't waste your breath.  I made that mistake and was flooded wit han inbox full of nasty personal insults by many regulars.  Two later apologized when they saw I was right.  To be fair, what is thievery for one person may be a situational perk.  The libraries here offer subscriptions to certain services that would not be legal for non library card holders residing here.
