Anyone?  The price just bounced down $500 and I'm tempted to pull the trigger.  For the record, I'm using a VS700.  If anyone has used both, your input would be invaluable.  I understand this may be better suited for the "Hardware" forum but I wanted to get this in front of as many folks as possible.  Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but i think the UFX is an updated, bigger version of the Fireface 400.  I have had the RME FF 400 for 7 years and it is really a great piece of gear.  Latency is very manageable even with high powered plug ins.  Midi timing is excellent.  I've had to work with a couple different sound cards lately and my RME is by far the best.  I paid $1200 for it at sweetwater.

I have an RME MultiFace II that I've owned for at least 7 years.  It still works like the day I bought it!  I know they make rock-solid gear and write rock-solid drivers.  I'd be very interested to hear if anyone has used BOTH the UFX and the VS700.

I've been using the RME UFX with SONAR for several years.  No problems with drivers or firmware updates.  The UFX can also be used as a stand-alone recorder.

RME recently released a UFX+ which added a some new features.  Maybe that's why there's a price drop on the UFX.

I'm a Multiface II user. It can be a little difficult to set up, but the performance has been solid.

I have ufx in the studio and the babyface in the office.
Rock solid!
RME drivers are the standard by which all others are judged.
It'll take a day or two to wrap your head around TotalMix.
Once you do nothing else will satisfy, the routing options are endless.
Just the best!

Thanks to all!  I understand the "rock solid" part because I own a MultiFaceII and use it still!  No doubt RME producst are solid!
What about the sound of the converters?  Anyone migrated from something else and give me an idea of how it "sounds"?

I went from Tascam FW-1884 to RME Fireface UFX about three years ago. Greatly improved the sound quality of anything I record. It did not improve my talent though.

Now if someone went from Lynx to RME you might hear the opposite story.
