After I updated to the most recent SONAR Platinum, any project, new or existing, with Kontakt 5 in it, will open, but then SONAR stops responding and stays that way. I tried some other Native Instruments VSTs, and they don't seem to be causing the same problem. My Kontakt 5 is at version 5.5.2.880, the latest from the update tab.

More information - it seems to be okay until I actually load an instrument in Kontakt. I tried uninstalling Kontakt 5 and reinstalling but have the same results. It actually WILL come back (I hadn't waited long enough before) but will hang again after showing then hiding the Kontakt interface. It hangs for about 5-6 minutes.

Have you tried resetting and rescanning your vst's in prefs?

Is it possible you're inadvertently running the 32-bit version of SONAR after the re-install?

@bitflipper: I only HAVE the 64-bit version of SONAR installed, so I think the odds of it are very low. :)

At this point, it might be worth re personalizing Sonar.
Hold down CTRL and double click on the Sonar desktop icon (CTRL+Start Sonar).
It will ask if you want to re personalize, select yes. go through the rescan process.
 
it could be an update. are you up to date on all windows updates ?
also make sure your graphics are all up to date. some of the Kontakts library's can be graphic intensive and require the latest versions of graphics drivers. as well as sonar using open GL. you need these updates.

Press the button that says "Reset" in Edit > Preferences > File > VST Settings and then press "Scan"

Tried to reproduce. There are 3 Kontakt choices, does it happen to all of them?
