Have you recently changed file paths or deleted drives?

I don't have my system in front of me at the moment but Kontakt will have an entry showing where it expects to find its files and I'd look to make sure that where it is finding its DLL is the same place that Cakewalk is configured to look for DLLs.

Registry key is:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5"

It has values for the 32 and 64 bit VST folders - depending on which is installed I presume.

Having said this, I'm not sure the standalone version is loading the VST dlls. Process Explorer isn't showing it as using anything from my VST folder.

Ok, sorry we weren't able to get to the bottom of it. I'd be interested to know how it goes with NI. Good luck sorting it all out :)

I found a Kontakt 5 forum entry in the Native Instruments forum that described exactly what I experienced and a fix that worked for him. I implemented it, and "Lo, and behold!" it fixed MY issue, too.

It involves setting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Kontakt 5\showForeignFormatsInBrowser to 0 and restarting the DAW

Thanks again for everyone's help!

Is that a setting that can be accessed in Sonar or is that a registry change?

Registry. No idea what it's actually for though...

Hi:)

Sorry for the late answer, I was on holiday short-termed.

This link fixed it. So easy and so helpful.
Thank you very much;)

Bassman.
