  • Help understanding what's included in Platinum Addictive Drums (p.2)

It's still not clear to me so let me try to get the answer I want to hear.

I originally got AD2 when I bought X3,
It included Studio Prog, Studio Pop and Studio Rock.

Last week I got Platinum Lifetime  ... and AD2 runs in Platinum with the 3 original kits.
Since (supposedly) "Platinum includes a voucher for 3 kits, 3 midi packs and 3 kit pieces of your choice",

do I now get to choose 3 more *additional* kits ...
and 3 midi packs and 3 kit pieces?
if no then
is it because my original 3 kits count as the 3?
if yes then
can I dump any or all of them and get 3 new kits?

Also, are my choices limited or can I get
Session Percussion
Modern Jazz Sticks
Modern Jazz Brushes
???

Thank you!

Edit: I realized I semi misunderstood the previous question/situation. However that's because of the mention of those three kits which were NOT included in the X3 included AD2. They were part of AD1. X3 originally had AD1 then midway through it's lifecycle AD2 came out and replaced AD1 in X3. Just to make things even more confusing. lol

Original post...

No... those 3 kit vouchers would be the only three kits you get (in total) for AD2. No kits are actually included in AD2... you have to buy/redeem/pick them (unlike AD1 where it came preloaded with 3 kits but you could not choose them... to get extras you had to pay for the expansion paks).

The three kits you already have in AD1 will not work in AD2 as is but you can just keep using AD1 if you want to use those sounds. If you want access to those kits in AD2 you have to pay an upgrade fee OR use your vouchers to get them OR pay for them individually.

Since you already have those kits in AD1 I would recommend getting something new with your vouchers (unless you are hellbent on having those kits in AD2).

Yes you can use your vouchers for the kits you listed.

Hopefully that's a little clearer. If not my apologies. As I said... it's confusing.

Cheers.

Unless something has changed you should be able to choose: 3 more *additional* kits ...
and 3 midi packs and 3 kit pieces

Choices are not limited AFAIK. Just redeem the AD2 key in Command Center with XLN.

I got AD2 with X3 not AD1. I've never seen AD1.
My current original 3 (old got them with X3) do work in Platinum in AD2.

So maybe now you can see my confusion since telecharge 'seems' to have given me the answer I want to hear.

I'll have a look at CCC and the "redeem" thing.
Thanks!

AFAIK AD2 never came with those kits. You would have had to specifically pick them. At least that's my understanding of it. Not sure how you got those kits otherwise. Freaky.

I was an "early-ish" adopter of X3 so I got AD1 with those three kits.

I edited my previous post though because I misunderstood what you were saying (because you mentioned those three kits).

Very odd so I'll shut up now.

It did come with them.
I had them last year as soon as I got X3.
