OK,

So I’ve read the posts and tried to find out as much as I can, but I’m hoping to find out the best way to use this control surface with Sonar Platinum. I have the Novation Zero SL MkII and have read the  various comments regarding Automap, etc. So far I have managed to get it to recognise the Zero through Automap and have control over the faders, pan, track arm, mute, solo and transport controls (nothing else seems to be available except for these settings). All of this is available through the mixer option. I haven’t had any luck getting the user, fx or inst settings going or really getting the plug ins working with the encoders yet?

I’d be interested in knowing how you use yours with Sonar and how you set it up.

Is it possible to get the touch settings to actually select the track, i.e. if I touch fader 3 will it select that track 3 in Sonar? (I know it will move the fader on that track but I mean select as in clicking on the track for editing etc)

Anyone using ACT and does this give access to more control over the software?

Any use for the speeddial?

What about the WAI function?

Sorry for all the questions, but I suspect there are one or two of you out there who may have been able to make good use of it and I’ll post this in the Cakewalk forums, Novation forums and any others anyone might like to suggest where I may find answers :D

Here’s hoping!

Hi. If you open the AutoMap software, under (IIRC) software setup. There is a vst, vst3 and one thing more (I do not remember). When you click on f.ex vst, the vst's available will have a check box next to it. Check the ones you wish to control (it might take a few seconds before AM responses again. Repeat with vst3. Then do a vst re scan. It can be a bit of a hassle to recognize the difference between the original plugin, and the AM ones.
Hope you get it working.
Best of luck.

Thanks Ken. I managed to get the plugins working (or at least the one I tested - Cakewalk Sound Center). I need to try more when I have more time this week. On a related note, I see ChannelTools listed as a plugin in the Automap software but not in Sonar. Anyone know what this refers to?

Thanks
again

The other selection is RTAS, but doesn't seem to support Automap automation
I am hacking through getting an SL Mkii up and running currently with Automap 4.10 (which "theoretically" supports Sonar). Have a lot of it working but some annoyances. I am in the middle of just setting up a couple of <Plug-in Manager> templates to sort out the (unidentified in Sonar menus) Automap-versions from the originals.
