Does anyone know if the pro channel settings are printed on the frozen track along with regular plugins or whether pro channel settings are always separate? Thanks guys.

Depends on what your freeze options are set to.

They are set to freeze fx. By that I assumed VST plugins. Does this include ProChannel eq, tube, compressor, console emulation, etc?

Yes
You will notice that once the track is frozen, ProChannel is turned off.

Great, thank you. If you turn the pro channel back on you are now affecting the track with already printed eq, comp, etc. no reason not to do this if for instance I need to do further tweaks right?

I just went and double checked this - as I've been unfreezing a few tracks that have amp sims in the FX bin and PC FX also.

When I unfreeze it turns ProChannel *off* - so when I freeze the track again, PC is off, and then I can turn it on to apply PC to the frozen (amp sims) track. Whether by design or not - I think this is perfect (for me anyway) - but I guess we just have to pay attention to whether PC is enabled or not when freezing and unfreezing tracks.

It's a good point to bring up though...

So ProChannel is separate from the freezing process. You just proved that, otherwise it would have stayed on after unfreezing. Thanks for doing that. I guess we could do a test with some very radical eq just to confirm that this is in fact the case.

Yeah - I'm not 100% sure if it was "on" when I froze the tracks. I would have wanted it "off", and then when I unfreeze it was "off" - but as I said, I'm not sure ;-)

yes but you made a comment on the interwebs... so it need to be 100% correct.

I have been freezing tracks all week and ive had PC on and after listening to those tracks, I cant hear PC effects
(compressior, EQ, Exc.)
I know the documentation says it freezes all FX and I know there is an option in preferences to choose the way Freeze works (to a small extent). But I still cant hear any change. as far as im concerned, what im hearing is the Frozen Midi track (session drummer / multi out) each track just sounds like SS3 dry.

I could be wrong-eo. Let me enter my Laboratory in a bit and run some test.
Tell us what kind of disease we are dealing with.

FX is another term for an effect. YST is a protocol for plugin effects so is direct X. PC modules use the VST protocol and are effects. When you bounce an audio track with any effects and the bounce is set up to include effects than all effects will be printed to the bounced track. Freeze is a special form of bounce that can be reversed or unfrozen. It works exactly the same as bounce as far as including FX (effects), If the PC is on when you freeze it will be included if in the freeze option for FX is included i.e checked.

Sonar recognizes VST and DX as effects. Also VSTi and DXi too.
