Ok, I just have to admit that every time I see SONAR spelled in non-CAPS, it makes me a little sad.

Fun Fact: Cakewalk employees rarely fail to spell it properly.

[I've actually been wanting to say that for years, not really sure why I chose today.]

There are discussions going on that make me sadder I bet.

I can't say it bothers me (or that I even really notice) when others don't do it, but I always do.

Style guides say you should never capitalize something that isn't an acronym. But it is:

I cant say this particular word crime bothers me too much. In the words of a well known peanuts meme:

"When comforting a grammar nazi,  I always say softly, "there, their, they're".

I also cringe a little when I see it not capitalized (or capitalised for our British friends. ), but I also know it's a losing battle to try getting people to use words properly anymore.  If I live to be 90 I'm sure I won't recognize (recognise) the English language at all.

Actually, my main point of annoyance isn't so much the forums, as it is so-called professional publications. However, I don't mind also calling out all of the folks that have it misspelled in their signatures.

Ok e.B, I fixed my signature.
Hope that brightens your day a bit!

John
I think of it as a proper name not where it came from.
