When I first bought Sonar Professional, Addictive Drums 2 came with it. I downloaded and installed AD2 with the free kit. I played around with it for a while and all was good. Then, I haven't used it for a while and after applying about 3 Sonar updates when they were available, I went to use AD2 again and it was gone. Nowhere to be found on my computer. I had to use the XLN Online installer and download everything again (over 1gb) and reinstall it.

Has this happened to anyone else?  Also, are the files that XLN Online installer downloads automatically deleted after installation?

Thanks for any info!

I find it very hard to believe that Cakewalks updates would delete anything from your PC that is not related to their own Software.

The very fact that you need to download an installer from XLN indicates that something else or somebody else must have occurred or done something on your PC.  Bad disk possibly?

Did you try a reset and rescan in the PIM before this action or were all the directories gone?

Thanks for replying Wookiee. I'm the only one that uses this computer. Yes, I did rescan in the PIM several times and it didn't find it.

Have you ever restored your computer to an earlier date in time after having AD2 installed?  Just a thought.

Thanks for replying Jesse G! As I have had bad experiences with restore in the past, I avoid it like the plague. I just don't trust Microsoft that much. I would sooner just download and reinstall AD2 again. It's not a real big deal as I don't use it that much anyway. MT Power Drum Kit is my go to drum synth anyway. It's a lot easier to use and sounds great, and it's free if anyone is interested.

Just a thought - did you by chance apply the W10 Anniversary update recently ? If so, that changes the PC's identity so AD2 will no longer work. You just need to authorise the PC with the XLN installer.

If not....... Carry on !

I was like that but I've changed. I suggest trusting it. When you download AD2 pay attention to the install directory and change if necessary.
