Slip-stretching clips using the Smart Tool/Ctrl key is no longer working for me. Additionally, when dragging a fade on a clip, I no longer get a red line indicating the edge of the fade. Anyone else experiencing these issues?

The clip fade has changed and lost the red highlight and the fade curve type is a bit harder to find. No idea why they would change it, so I'm calling it a mistake in the upgrade.

You really need to read the eZine for each update to find out about the new features, how to get the most out of them, and why particular changes were made. In this case, please refer to page 11.

Craig - I'm a regular, each month download the latest Platinum version, user. I've regularly read the eZines with great interest - cover to cover - each release after I discovered you and the Bakers were calling it an eZine and posting it with the new release.

For the last couple of releases I thought you had stopped putting out eZines because they are not on the release info in the top Sonar section. This release, the Aug version, as an example has a link to Rolling updates. No info about an eZine. Same went for the last release or two. I read the eZines. Except as a reader, recently I didn't know they still existed because I no longer saw a front page mention of the eZine or a link to it.

Just sayin'

Well, I see the eZine link now in the Rolling updates section. I hadn't noticed the mention of the eZine there before. It's there, but it's so subtle I'd missed it for the last couple months - even though I have visited the Rolling Updates page periodically. Maybe I scrolled too fast, or not far enough, wasn't observant enough. My fault. Unless the eZine link was more prominent or obvious.

I could find nothing about the fade marker not being red anymore. As for the clip management, I have to say I don't get it. The colour coding worked for me.

Thank you for the information about the new slip-stretching behavior. Sounds like the clip fade thing may be a bug. I'll submit a problem report.

No, it's not a bug. The yellow, blue, and red lines are all gone - part of "eliminating visual clutter left over from yesteryear’s operating systems." The announcement of the update with all the bullet points said:
  • Red, Yellow, & Blue hit zones flags have been removed
  • Fade indicators in the corners of clips have been removed
It's true the eZine didn't mention the colors specifically, but it did say how crossfades (and therefore fades) were redone to make the fades more obvious when zoomed out.
