Hello. Since installing Sonar X1 Producer, I've noticed that some templates are missing. I usually like to choose a blank template when I create a song, but it's no longer there. Any ideas why this disappeared? Thanks

Maybe you did what I did when upgrading S4 to S8.5, select to keep old folders or not or a similar option.

I had to copy them from 8.5 folder to old folder, then it worked fine.

by default all the X1 templates seem to be in C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X1 Producer\

There are Project Templates and Track Templates.

A totally blank project does not play well with Screen Sets. Do a search for some answers. In my experience and others as well you must have at least a single track, audio or MIDI in order for Screen Sets to behave. I have as my Normal template a single audio track that I hide using the Track Manager 'H' key which gives the illusion of a blank template but keeps Screen Sets functioning.

I HAVE to figure this is a bug and perhaps a known one as well since the blank template is no longer available.

Yes, you can copy them from an older SONAR installation or just create new ones on your own.

Scott,

Have you discovered the Screen Set problem with a blank template?

Scott,

Have you discovered the Screen Set problem with a blank template?

Yep, looks like a bug.

As far as I know a "quick start" template file for new project in  is a .cwt file. So my question where are they kept in X1?

I did a search in Windows...*.cwt. And the only locations where I find them are in earlier versions of Sonar. e.g. 8 and 8.5 they do not show up anywhere in an X1 folder.

Since I do not have a blank template either, I created my own template but I don't know where to save it. I tried putting it with the 8.5 but it does not show up in the X1 Quick Start drop down.

Is this all a part of the same bug?

Thanks

I'm not sure why this is going on but...I just did a manual search looking for the X1 .cwt files and found them C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X1 Producer\Project Templates. Why they do not show up using the Windows 7 search bar (*.cwt) is beyond me. So I guess I answered my own question...and yeah I'm going crazy with X1 nuances.

X1 now consolidates content files into the Cakewalk Content folder. I know it takes some getting used to, but it will make things easier to find in the future. You can also move folder to a new location, if you'd like. Just make sure to change the folder locations in the X1 Preferences.
