I read the whole e-zine as well. It helps me to stay current on what is out there.

The reviews were about all I read last time, aside from titles, and a welcome break,
Not that I don't appreciate the Russian updates (LOL), new toys, themes and under the hood fixes, but I'm still working on understanding Sonitus plugin's, LOL.
But more seriously, having Ozone Id like to see Maximizer (and Exciter) reviewed, since they can be used as VST's in Sonar, I've been looking at getting a midi integrated guitar also, so yes also.
Some things to learn about, EUCON enabled?  PT-S3 interface with Sonar?
Keep up the reviews,
Cheers

The past two issues have had product reviews of SONAR-friendly products - the Xkey 25 keyboard controller and MIDIMATE II USB MIDI interface. My intention was to give an extra goodie to members, as well as provide something in the eZine that would be useful to people who hadn't upgraded to SONAR 2015.

I'd be interested in thoughts/suggestions about whether having reviews is helpful, and if so, the type of products you'd like to see covered. For example, I feel one important plug-in SONAR doesn't have is a really good multiband "maximizer." I've traditionally used the Waves L3 Multimaximizer but have been playing around with the Maximizer in Ozone and it's exceptional...might be worth reviewing. I also plan to review hardware controllers, like Jamstix and the You Rock Guitar for those who want to do MIDI guitar inexpensively.

Thoughts?

Hi there Anderton,
I definitely read and enjoy your reviews.......
For us musicians, I think more reviews focused along the lines of say, speakers, audio interfaces(both firewire and usb), and definitely mics....

I can say that I read through those things that are of personal interest....

I'm with LJB,  where is said e-zine? If the only place it exists is in an email I probably will never read it, as I jettison crap loads of email daily. Is there somewhere on ths site where I can access?

I am usually so excited to try out the Sonar features that I skip right on passed the review.

This thread is a bit necro.. Craig, please keep including product reviews. You have street cred, if you feel a product review worthy of inclusion, it probably is. I read your 'ezine reviews where the product interests me.

So...this thread is over a year old (I posted it after doing the first two reviews to see if it was worth taking the time to continue writing them), but someone who considered reviews "insulting" resurrected it. I wasn't really expecting any further response, but thanks for User Feedback, Round 2.

Anyway, the same problem keeps persisting...to find the eZine, you need to know the Secret Handshake, as well as have the Cakewalk Special eZine Decoder Ring, which is available only from certain unannounced locations between the hours of 9:17 and 10:43 PM on alternate Tuesdays following Groundhog Day. However, there is a lesser-known alternative: you can go to the Rolling Updates page in the products section, where you'll see a tiny link to the eZine as part of the update description.

There has been sporadic talk of having it downloadable from the Command Center, but it never happens so the method listed above is the only way to find it if you don't open the newsletter. Sometimes there's a link in the forum sticky announcing the latest update, but I don't think it's been happening recently. Frankly, Cakewalk needs to keep the eZine a secret because the material in there could threaten national security if it falls into the wrong hands...especially the Top 10 lists.

I followed all of your instructions, evening locating the un-locatable locations, and all I could find was a special edition Star Wars Bluetooth light sabre, the Rick Moranis signature edition with ludicrous mode, with no sign whatsoever of the Decoder Ring, let alone anyone to shake hands with.

I've had it with all these Gibson tactics at making me go to PT, which they must own too.

Despite your best efforts, I will remain, and read the ezine on the rolling updates page, even read your product reviews if I want.....discarding emails at my whim....

take that sir !!
