I love the e-Zine, but I confess I skip the product reviews unless they happen to be something I'm already interested in...

Yup always read them as usually they are interseting and provide a nice balance to the changes etc at the beginning

just got a read on the new Ezine.
ASIO4ALL is being used more an ever, Craigs chord library...where is it and how do I get it
looks amazing and also looks like a long, pain staking process to create.

It's particularly useful when you hit creative blocks - I speak from personal experience. I offered it to Cakewalk to include in a membership release, but they didn't want it.

Me too.  Holy cow!  ASIO4ALL is the #1 audio output in Sonar?

Funny ... I was actually reading this while testing ASIO4ALL for use with Sonar Platinum on my modest (cheap) non-DAW laptop.

Just curious if I could run a couple of VST instruments with effects through headphones while traveling.  In my test I hooked up to a good 2.1 powered speaker system with subwoofer.  CD quality sound filled the room

It actually runs surprisingly well on my Realtek audio chip.  Nearly the same latency (under 10msec one direction - no input enabled) as my desktop DAW with a Firewire interface.  No crackling or dropouts

Laptop spec:  Acer Aspire E-15, Core i5-4210U 1.7GHz, 4GB DDR3, Intel HD 4400 graphics, 500GB HDD 5400rpm, Windows 10 Home x64, Sonar Platinum 2016.07

I have mixed feelings about it.
I used to use it when in a pinch on a laptop a few years back. I also suggested it to people who were just getting started and didn't have enough money to buy an audio interface.
but when I noticed the problems it was causing (both operator error and A4A) I decided not to suggest it anymore.

like anything though, with enough perseverance, one can make it happen.
problem is, most who need to use it are just starting out in the audio field and don't know how to set it up, thus leading to crashes and driver conflicts.

I find this strange because I've read a lot of requests for a chord tool within sonar.
this library would be a nice add on Craig. as we become older and more wise, I think we begin to understand set up time is key to being focused and not losing interest as easy. a chord library IMO is a set up tool.
it manages steps and lets you bypass critical set up time to allow the user to use a more fluent approach.
