• SONAR
  • Un Mute punch in SOLVED!

Hopefully I can explain this clearly.
I've set a "punch-in" on a track, and loop points to create a "roll-in" and out.
I have "comping" on and "Mute Previous Takes" checked (see image below).

Notice that Sonar has "Muted" the punched section, so far so good. The issue is I can't "Un-Mute" it.
Now the "clam" is in the original take, and I want that gone; that's fine.
BUT, if I do say 3 "takes", stop, listen back and decide to take another run at it, the first 3 punch-ins get "muted"
and I can't restore them. They are "hollow" (as illustrated in the screen shot above).
How the 'ell do I un-mute the "hollow" track?
Have I described my problem succinctly?
TIA,

Tom
BTW, I selected the "hollow" section and pressed "K", that should "un-mute"; right?
And the top track shows it "full", but I've got no audio.
UPDATE #1
I "imported" the original clip and the "mute" is non-destructive. The imported clip plays back complete.
Gotta be a way to "un-mute" this section.
Scook, where are you buddy, you gotta know how to do this; right??

You can undo any part or all of the region muting (dotted wave outline) by swiping in the top half of a muted clip with the Mute tool.

Thank you very much!
Gawd I love this forum.
Just a little tip for those who are a little "slow" (like me).
The "mute" tool is "hidden" in the "erase" tool (select "erase" then F10).
No wonder I couldn't "find" it...

Brundlefly, thank you very much.   You are a very knowledgeable user.   This is exactly the fix I needed also.  See "http://forum.cakewalk.com/Hint-for-using-punchin-with-comping-m3472236.aspx" in which I pointed people to this thread for the fix.

Thanks again.   I would never have discovered this workaround without your help.
