 Good Day all,

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with Fishman Triple play system and could provide feedback/review? I'm looking at getting the device, or possibly getting a Godin guitar (Session or Montreal models) with triple play system integrated right into the guitar when made, but not sure I should commit this far to both guitar and midi device.

Any advice/direction would be appreciated .

Cheers

There are a few old threads that were posted here - just Google "Sonar Forums Fishman Triple Play" and you'll see a whole bunch starting back in 2012.

I'm also interested in same system your looking at, I love Godin guitars. My son has the older model  with the Roland multi pin connection. I borrowed it for a few months and used it with my ancient GR 50. Worked way better than using the supplied HEX PU system. But they don't make them anymore, they now come with the Fishman system.  I think the reason is the Fishman system opens up way more sounds to the player.  The Roland system was never improved much over 30 years so is a dead end.

The Godin system appeals to me because it's a Factory install on a great guitar.

I have the FTP, but don't use it much. I put it on a guitar with a large radius fret board and can't set the levels evenly across the strings. The FTP PU is close to the strings in the middle and farther away from the strings on the outside. I had a Roland GK-1 hex PU mounted on it previously and that worked fine so it's really a limitation of the FTP. I have a number of guitar synths and the GR-55 does a better job of GTR-To-MIDI for me. If you buy a guitar that has it built in you won't have that problem. For the most part I use guitar synths and when I want GTR-To-MIDI I use a GR-55 or YouRock Guitar. I have a couple Godin guitars - LGXT SA and ACS SA. They are both nice guitars.

Would Jam Origin's software MIDI converter work for you? It works really, really well.
