Maschine just updated to 2.7.7 and it is still quite broken in Sonar when used as a vst. i guess since this problem isn't happening with other DAWs, this is a Cakewalk problem. is Cakewalk working with Native Instruments to fix this? or is Native Instruments not working with Cakewalk because they don't like Cakewalk's pricing structure? it will be disheartening if the latter is the case
I've been in touch with NI about this so we are working with them. The problem appears to be system related rather than Cakewalk since it happened after a windows update with no changes to Cakewalk. The logic of "it doesn't happen in X therefore it must be a bug in Y" is not always the most sound way to troubleshoot. In this case the problem affects more than one DAW and is solved by installing the latest Windows 10 updates. Here is a thread referencing it being
fixed by a windows update.
For reference, when opening the Windows Update assistant, you should see the following update available:
Windows 10 Version 1803 Cumulative Update KB4340917
After installing this update, restart your machine, then launch Cakewalk by BandLab.
We're still to understand why the update affected Maschine.
