Hello Friends of Music,
i'm new here and i want to know if anybody has a solution for my issue with sonar platinum.
 
After the process of bouncing to clips the output of my interface get a loud "click noise". When i deactivate the audio engine before, all is ok. But when i activate the audio engine again, the same loud click stick through the speakers or headphone. I use the newest driver of the audio interface (komplete audio 6) and newest Win10 update. I guess the evil is the interface.
 
Has anyone out there heard about it? Or could a owner of the same interface report of his experience in that case?

Hi Harry. Welcome to the forum!
 
I don't have that interface or use windows 10 for that matter, but just a thought; have you disabled all windows system sounds? If not give it a try. System sounds can cause your audio interface to temporarily switch sample rates which will in turn cause clicking.
 
If nothing else you get a bump to the top of the forum and get some more eyes on your problem:)

thank you for your reply. I've tried what you wrote.
1. I deactivated onboard sound card
2. i deactivated windows system sounds
3. i tried to change the usb ports (2x usb2, 2x usb3)
Always the same issue. Audio engine send to output a "click noise" after the bouncing is done.
 
Maybe someone else has an idea?

So just to make sure I understand...
 
You bounce a clip. Calculations occur. After the calculations are done while the waveform is being redrawn, you hear a click after the waveform has been redrawn. Correct?
 
Are you bouncing multiple tracks or bouncing a clip to itself?
 
This is unusual behavior so we can probably find a solution. Quite a few people have reported good results with the Komplete interface and SONAR. Please try this experiment:
 
1. Open a new project.
2. Set a track to record for a minute or so but do not feed it any audio, so there's no visible waveform. Do not insert any effects into any tracks.
3. Repeat step 2 for two more tracks.
4. Bounce the three tracks to a new track.
 
Do you still hear a click?

Yes you understand correct. The issue is both the same, multiple or single clip.
I tried the experiment:
1. Open a new untitled project:
After a few seconds the audio engine active itself - a loud crack or click you hear on the output of the interface!
2. Set the recordbutton in track to record - the same crack!
3. It doesn't matter if one or more track will bounced or a melodyne track will bounced, every time the same crack/click is audible! Maybe some settings in the audio engine is wrong?
 
I use the newest Sonar Platinum (08) Update, but the issue was already before.
Someone perhaps another proposal?

After all that crackles and cicks i deinstalled the KA6 driver and installed my old Tascam US-122 interface. I used the win vista driver, so no problems (except one), the interface is running under win10 x64! The only problem is, my PC don't shut down when interface is connected.
 
But the important thing is: NO MORE crackles, no clicks after bouncing!!
The cause is the buggy driver of Native Instruments KOMPLETE AUDIO 6. In my machine the driver works faulty!
 
Now I'm looking for a new interface that works without problems.

Okay...now I'm starting to think it could very well be a defective interface. It sounds like maybe these audio operations are causing some kind of DC offset.
 
However before pursuing that any further, try increasing the ASIO latency to 512 samples using the Komplete 6 control panel and listen to what happens.
 
Assuming the problem persists, if you have onboard sound like a Realtek chip, try using SONAR with MME (you'll need to set the latency for at least 50 ms or so) and listen whether there's the same click. Also if possible, borrow a different interface and see if that solves the problem.
 
I very rarely think hardware is the issue, but the fact that you get a click with any audio operation does make the interface, or some other element of the audio chain, suspect.

I already tried my old US-122 Interface: It works with win10 without clicks!! The only issue is, win10 cannot shutdown when interface is connected.

Thank you Anderton for your note to give a new try before i buy a new interface.
Here is a new solution:
1. I deinstalled the US-122 driver
2. I reinstalled the Komplete Audio 6 driver
3. The same clicks/crackles despite various settings!
4. I downloaded the last Asio4All driver (2.13)
5. I installed it (without deinstallation of KPA6 drivers!)
6. It works! No problems with clicks!
 
The only thing is, you can use only one set of input/output. In my case input 1-2 and output 1-2 works. The settings in Sonar for KPA6 are greyed and not selectable. So i can't choose 3-4 and the digital outputs 5-6. I don't need the other in-/outputs therefore for me is the solution ok.
