Hi folks , just asking for your honest opinions . I'm currently using platinum and had just upgraded to window 10 . Lately especially i do have thoughts of switching to another DAW as i can be quite frustrated with this platinum . I have encountered error pop up or audio drop out . i have always encountered my platinum shutting down whenever i'm using it and More so when i upgraded to window 10 . Also i bought the rapture pro ( vst 3) and it will always take a while to load or change new sounds . SO right now i'm hesitant to buy the lifetime upgrades .
 
How is your experience with platinum ? Do you guys encountered the problems i mentioned ?

I was using a Alien ware m18x r1 2960xm , dual 6990m GPU, 32 gb hyper x , rme babyface , and SPLAT HATED IT for a year and a half , problem after problem with drivers versus SPLAT , SPLAT always victorious, drop outs gallore and daily aswell as mini dumps .
 
I swapped to my desktop , 980x rampage iii extreme , dual 450gts GPU, 24 GB , and The whole experience changed SPLAT loves it , it works flawlessly . Like i wanna cry it runs so perfectly . i now use my alien ware as a slave PC via a crossover cable and every day is a pleasure . Yes sonar has some bugs and what not but the main problems will always be the system your using , i.e. drivers ,hardware .
 
This is just my experience others may differ .

Sonar Platinum is running rock solid for me.

Runs very well here too... Lots of hours. My only crash scenario is when I change to/from a song containing some unruly 32bit vst...


Live recordings (8 hours/7 bands type situations) as well as many, many hours of studio work..

I don't get crashes, dropouts or lockups no matter what I do in Platinum.
 
It would help if you could add your entire system spec to your signature, especially details of your interface & drivers

You will probably get everyone on the forum helping you get up and running quickly if you can post your computer specs, soundcard, amount of ram etc. This is a great forum with lots of Sonar knowledge and friendly people.

sorry to hear about your probs with Splat.
Splat is running like"butter"on my systems .
 
Without knowing any system specs of your system it´s 
impossible to help you  in that situation.
Did you try a clean installation of Win 10 ?

Platinum seems very solid on Windows 10

The only issues I have had are; Crashes using Drumcore 4, much improved since the last Drumcore update and occasional audio engine dropouts using Softube Modular when there are a lot of modules in use.

I don't think the fault for either of these issues can be attributed to Sonar.
