Sorry for the added rant, but can't help it!

If you can submit a sample project that has this problem we'd like to take a look at it.
I have been waiting for 3 weeks to even get into Sonar. Application crashes at launch.... And something as simple as an issue with VocalSync gets more attention than my issue? Wow!
Unless your issue is reproducible, or encountered by more than a couple people, there's
no way Cakewalk can give it attention. If your issue was inherent in SONAR, it would be a huge topic of discussion here. For all we know, you're using ASIO4ALL and 3rd party plug-ins that have issues. Remember, SONAR is very strict about following the VST spec - not to upset people, but to make sure that it works with plug-ins that
are equally careful about following the spec.
I sympathize with people who can't get things working, but like Chuck, I don't have problems with VocalSync (at least ones that aren't human error). Issues like clicks and pops are an inherent part of the preview process until rendered because complex calculations are being done in real time. Also VocalSync needs to be used on relatively short sections, the guide track has to be specified correctly, and it's important to understand that turning the dial clockwise doesn't mean "more sync." The sweet spot could be anywhere along that dial's continuum.
As I've often said, if the problem isn't with SONAR, continuing to look for a problem within SONAR will just lead to frustration. When I found out that the majority of SONAR sessions use ASIO4ALL instead of drivers written for a true ASIO interface, I started to realize part of why there's a disparity between the "SONAR doesn't work" and "SONAR works fine for me" posts. Of course ASIO4ALL isn't the only culprit (and it can work), but there are Windows elements, dependencies, required library updates, and so on.
SONAR's performance is dependent on the host system. Also because it's not a cross-platform program, its hooks go deep into Windows. If the host system sneezes, SONAR will catch a cold.
