I am using Sonar Platinum. My question is regarding midi. I am using a solo violin sample and would like to be able to bend or slur into a note. My midi keyboard does not have a pitch wheel. How can I draw or create a bend or slur into a note manually.

Short answer:
- Open the clip in the Piano Roll View.
- Enable 'Show Controllers' in the View menu.
- Click + in the controller pane to add a lane, and change the Type to 'Wheel'.
- Draw controllers in the new lane with Snap disabled.

Thanks, This sort of works. Is there a way to change the pitch values as I might want to slide up to next note like from G up to C. This grid only allows about a 1/4 pitch change.

Pitch bend range limits are typically a function of the instrument's pitch bend range parameter. I use SONAR all the time to do multi-octave pitch bends.

Hmm, it seem like once you've popped in all the midi lines on the piano view grid, Sonar does not know what put them there, so it seem like when I draw my slide from 0 to 8191 I should get more than a 1/4 of a pitch change. Any other suggestions. The article above kind of suggests the same thing but no clear answer on how to achieve it.

Per the midi protocol:

4. The MIDI protocol specifies that a pitchbend value of 8192 (MSB of 64 and LSB of 0) means no bend. Thus, on the scale from 0 to 16,383,
a value of 0 means maximum downward bend, 8,192 means no bend, and 16,383 means maximum upward bend. Almost all pitchbend
wheels on MIDI controllers use a spring mechanism that has the dual function of a) providing tactile resistance feedback as one moves the
wheel away from its centered position and b) snapping the wheel quickly back to its centered position when it’s not being manipulated.

Note that your drawn pitch bend is going from down to center. You should probably draw from center to the top for what you said you were trying to do.  Your synth is interpreting the drawn bend as 1/4 of a pitch change and you must change the synth's interpretation. Most synth's are configurable, many are configurable at the individual patch level.
