  • [Solved] Drum Replacer crashes Splat 2016.08, and not caught by FaultReporter

Just finished installing 2016.08 and dropped the Drum Replacer in an FX bin on a drum track and it immediately crashed Sonar and wasn't caught by the FaultReporter.  So, I manually started the FaultReporter and opened a blank project, inserted an audio track, and added Drum Replacer and it crashed again but was caught by FR this time so I got this reported at least.  From the first error messages it looks like this might have had something to do with BitBridge (I had Sonitus Reverb and the CW Tempo Delay on tracks in the original project).

So then, I opened the original project, removed the 32 bit plugins, opened Task Manager and killed both BitBridge instances, then added Drum Replacer: Splat went to non-responsive and never recovered after allowing it about 10 minutes.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

I've had a few other crashes over the last few months and am just realizing Fault Reporter hasn't been catching those either.

The drum replacer is designed for use as a Region FX. Usually it is in the excluded VST3 list in the plug-in manager. It is not surprising the drum replacer does not work in the FX rack.

D'oh!

That did it. Thanks.  Forgot about that - it had been a while since I tried using the Drum Replacer.

Drum Replacer is showing up in the VST list now (or at least did on my system).  In the Browser> Audio FX (Sorted by Category) it shows up in the Uncategorized folder.  That's actually what I was doing when this happened was sorting through everything in that folder and assigning things to categories and wasn't used to seeing Drum Replacer and just popped it in the FX bin to open it up to check it out to make sure it was the CW one and not some demo or something I had downloaded and forgotten about.

Thanks again.
