Check the paths where Sonar is expecting to find your projects in the Command Centre

I too find it extremely unlikely that a third party program would even be able to delete all of your project files along with all the audio

This must be a paths issue

What does Windows Explorer say? Are your projects still in there?

Here's what happened ....
Before I installed and activated Melodyne 4 my Cakewalk projects folder path was set to this PC OS C drive .
This PC laptop I use for all my musical DAW studying ...all I want out of this machine is to have everything there where I can access it all and create little tutorial SONAR projects to learn new things ( too me )
The short story is I started getting good at a few things loop construction , mix recall , and a number of od ball projects I had plans to have developed further ...to bring over to my main PC ...
When I upgraded Melodyne earlier this morning ,for some odd unknown reason my projects got moved with out me even knowing it ...
If I had know it was gonna do that I wouldn't be over here sqwaking like a turkey seeking a pardon on the day before Thanksgiving ...
sorry about the confusion ...I will check to see what the CCC has listed for this PC
all the best , thank you
Kenny

You could try using a file undelete utility (e.g. Recuva, which is free).  Try and avoid writing anything to the disk in the meantime - don't even install Recuva on the machine if you can avoid it, download the portable version on another PC and put it on a pen drive.

Note: this all assumes that the files have actually been deleted and not just moved somewhere. Does it look like this is the case from the amount of free disk space?

Edit: Glad to see you got your stuff back while I was typing that!  I'll leave the post here in case it is of any use to anyone else in future.

Sure I'm glad you posted that link thank you

all the best ,

First, I would install a search tool and seach for .cwp files on the whole disc.
Maybe the files are moved or Sonar searches the files in an other directory.

Secondly: Maybe Microsoft has made an update and suddenly you have no rights for the folders.
Make sure you have admin rights.

I felt a wave of relief when you found the projects so I can only imagine what you felt!!!!!!

A timely reminder for everyone to BACK UP - I know what I will be doing later today!!!!

Is it possible you may not have noticed your projects missing until after you installed melodyne then just considered it must be melodyne?  I'm not even sure how melodyne could do this ? just doesn't make sense.

The melodyne install drove me nuts too. Went round in circles, and when I gave up, I found it had installed. No idea how I achieved it. Open from Sonar so I was cool. A few days later I tried standalone, and even though it had created an icon, it failed to open.I put off for another day.
Seeing this thread and i went to see what the opening error message on standalone was, but it just opened fine.

Maybe I've an install fairy that tides up after me.

Glad you are finding you files.

Which search tool are you recommending , is it a 3 rd party  ?
The files were actually moved against my consent . I'm very lucky to have  found them ...

I thought I did have admin rights since every thing I do is as an admin ....apparently admin is a rather loose term now a days

....thank you for trying to help me .....

Boydie ,
I just backed up all my Cakewalk projects from this computer to 3 separate HD's  ...
Also re routed my SONAR preferences to where they were before the update ...where I want them to be ..
I'm sort of still on edge due to all of this Jazz ...
Thank you for all the help and kind thoughts

No ,
The projects that became missing were the same exact projects I have been working on almost non stop for about 12 hours with out a glitch ....
I wish I knew what the answer was ...I don't ...

I know you are trying to help me and I do appreciate it , honestly I do ...

Talk about a runaround ...
I'm still not having it show it activated  my license ....
I go to their web site and use the serial number they gave me in my account and Melodyne still keeps the dialog box open

Thank you , your story gave me a little hope

Edit ...today Melodyne took my serial number  ..all seems well for now

all the best ,

Kenny
