I am using Sonar X2 Essential and have a problem generating organ sounds such as Hammond organ using the step sequencer in the Cakewalk Sound Center.
If I input a note the organ sounds continuously rendering the whole thing unworkable.
I have to unclick 'trigger note on click' to use it at all.
The  sound stops only when if I play the track.  Other instruments seem to be ok.
Is it a bug or am I missing something.

IDK, I have never tried the step sequencer with Sound Center. I just tried it and it seems to work OK with Sound Center set to the "Hammond Soul (fast)" patch. I am running X2 Producer 64bit so our setups are different. I have the first 3 of the 4 options checked on the Step Sequencer (which I believe is the default). Maybe someone with Essential could try it out or if the patch I selected was not the same as the one you have an issue with, let me know. Personally, I favor the Piano Roll View over the Step Sequencer for most direct MIDI input/editing.

Charlie, what sound card and driver are you using? Also, have you increased the midi buffers?

I use Samson Studio GT active speakers which have their own sound card.
Also I haven't touched the midi buffers
Any ideas as this noise is very annoying
