I'm trying to use my new Behringer X32 digital mixer to control Sonar X2 Via the Mackie Control.  I have tried every possible setting in Sonar and on the Behringer X32 Board.  It just won't connect.  I've tried the X32 with Presonus Studio One and it works perfect.  I have the firewire midi ports from the x32 selected for both in and out.   I have all the newest drivers installed for the Behringer X32.  I'm using Windows 7 32 bit.  It has to be something with Sonar because like I said it works perfect with Studio One.  Can anyone please  help?

I have the same problem (X1 and X2).  It works with other 'named' DAWs, but not Sonar.  Win 7 64 bit.

Funny, same thing with the Maschine Host control via Mackie Control in X1. Says connecting, but never connects. In Studio One, it works perfectly.

Sorry for being off topic, but can I ask you guys what your thoughts on the X32 are?

Is it good in a studio environment as opposed to live?

Thanks.

My Behringer BCF2000 connects OK via Mackie Control.   I show "Mackie Control - 1" and both the in port and out port "BCF2000".

I was thinking about buying one of these. Let us know if you get it to work.

I can't get my Motif XF7 to connect with Sonar.  The Motif specifies Mackie Control.  All MIDI ports are set up correctly.  So I'm at a loss as to how to set it up as well.

Oops....Let me clarify... I can't get the Motif to CONTROL Sonar...  it transmits MIDI and audio data just fine over my Firewire connections.

Mully & Laney.  The X32 is a great board for live and recording.  If sonar would just let the X32 control it, I'd be totally in love with it.  When I switch to Studio One it works flawlessly.  I think cakewalk has just let there Mackie control dll & ini files get too out of date because they want us all to be forced to buy there control surfaces.  Before I do that, I will just switch to another DAW.

Thanks spitshine! I don't think Cake are going to force anyone to buy their surfaces in any hurry. The 700C is dysfunctional under the X platform.

Not sure what's going on anymore with Cake to be honest.

Sounds like Studio One may be worth a check out if the integration is tight but then I'm thinking Studio One can't be that great if users still jump back to Sonar? More to ponder perhaps....

Thanks again.
