To all, not that this is totally relevant but there was an issue with a mackie remote control app (AC7) where it stuck at "connecting"..

A determined user here on the forum discovered that if you delete the two config files associated with control surfaces (ctrlsurface.dat and ttseq.ini) Sonar assumedly starts from scratch and it worked.

It may be worth a shot for those wishing to experiment and of course the sensible may rename the originals either just in case or to preserve existing control surface information.

Thanks Mystic.  I may try that!

I noticed odd things happening to the control surface configuration as well, in regards to the contour shuttle pro v2.

After I add my Contour shuttle, adding other surfaces gets weird. I can add them, but they do not show up in the list. They do appear in the control surfaces widget, but hang on "Connecting...". When I delete the contour shuttle entry, all the entries after it show up in the config editor, but the entries donot function. Removing and re-adding them gets them connecting again.

If I add the Contour shuttle last, everything works fine. So before I add a new surface, I have to remember to delete the Shuttle's entry, add my new surface, then add back the shuttle.

I'm using the latest shuttle software.

So, if you happen to use a shuttle, you might want to give that work around a try.

Hey thanks Mystic38.  I tried your idea.  No worky.  I had my hopes up though.  While I was looking for the 2 files you told me to delete, I noticed there are no Mackie presets in the control surface presets file.  Does anyone know if it needs a Mackie preset to work?

I can't connect my SONAR To it either. Because in Australia (just saw the first eBay advert for the X32) it's priced at wait for it $5,599.00 ouch! Considering the level the Aussie dollar is at we're being gouged again for being down under.
Hope you guys get the connection issue sorted out. I'm happy to stay with my StudioLive 2442 for now.

trying to use my new Behringer X32 digital mixer

How do you like that mixer? I played with it a bit a G.C. the other day and, at least on the surface, it seemed impressive. I'd love to replace my Phonic Firewire mixer in our PA with something like that or one of the newer Presonus boards. Did they manage to incorporate any feedback elimination algorithms? That's something Presonus left out ...

Try deleting or renaming ctrlsurface.dat and ttseq.ini in your Sonar directory with Sonar closed, Sonar recreates it when started. Then try adding your controller surfaces. Had to do this to make V-Control Pro work with Sonar via Mackie Control.

Hey Mudgel I've found them for around $3600 at Cranbourne Music and around $3k from the US.

Still serious coin and I'm wondering if they end up like the V-Studio stuff to be honest... not sure it's worth the pain but they look pretty good!

Cheers.

Hey Everyone using Firewire, try switching to USB 2.0 with the X32 to control Sonar.

I tried deleting both of the files.  Didn't work.  I tried using the usb instead of firewire.  Didn't work.  I got a hold of tech. support today.  They don't know what's wrong.  I guess I'll try Behringer.  Why would it work just fine with one DAW and not Sonar?
