Tonight just for fun I tried setting Sonar X2 to all the other available controllers, and guess what?  It worked when I set it on V-700c.  Well, most things worked.  The bank select buttons are backwards and the track names don't show up on the scribble strips on the X32, but i can control faders, mute, solo, start, stop, rw, ff and select tracks.  This proves to me that either cakewalk or behringer just needs to update their mackie control files to make them work with each other.

Try deleting or renaming ctrlsurface.dat and ttseq.ini in your Sonar directory with Sonar closed, Sonar recreates it when started. Then try adding your controller surfaces. Had to do this to make V-Control Pro work with Sonar via Mackie Control.

Tried as I may, I can not find those files.

That price is truly terrible. I just bought an X32 for $2480 here in the USA (brand new). That included shipping (the package weighs 60 lbs or about 25 kilos). With the Aussie dollar at 1.2 usd they are really taking the piss.

The files are located in: %APPDATA%/cakewalk/<your sonar version>

I have a few questions about the B'ger X32. Is this the thread, should I start a new thread or is there a better suited thread already going?

I Tried controlling Sonar X2 With my Motif XF Keyboard on Mackie Control and it works fine.  I guess it's just something between the X32 and sonar.  I hope There's an update for 1 or both soon so I can use the X32 to control.  I love  how it shows the actual track names from Studio one on the scribble strips.  It makes it so you don't have to look at the computer screen so much.

Yay!  It looks like this has worked for me on the first try for the X Touch Compact.  Thanks!

What worked on the first try?  You mean deleting the two files?

I'm adding this in hopes of helping the next poor soul struggling with a Behringer X-Touch...

Do as the previous threads say, delete the two files...and if it doesn't take, do it again. And again.

Reboot your PC after each, and restart Sonar fresh each time.

Try cycling power/startup in a different sequence.

Deleting the two files should also delete the Mackie Control from the list of controllers, so add it back in.

I deleted it from the list using the red X, then re-added it.

Somewhere along the way...it started to work.

Tenacity will be rewarded.

Now where is that template for the other buttons...
