I'm author of Duckbar. Yes, there's very little supporting documentation to help getting started with Duckbar. Program and mods are designed initially for my personal use but I made it public so that people who are really interested to participate in development and could use it, too.  Because Duckbar is a freeware project and I have limited resources to make it a fully documented, well tested program for the big audience, I have not encouraged anyone to use it for a long time.
 
That said, Duckbar has been updated yesterday and I will make it more user friendly for the new users.  Just wait for a while, I have some great ideas how to make SONAR Themes easier to tweak.
 

Please don't take my comments above as a dig.  I'm sure Duckbar is awesome and a lot of folks are obviously making great use of it.
 
I'm not asking you to do more work for free for my benefit.  I'm simply presenting another perspective on the Duckbar vs Theme Editor discussion.

how long will you wait and see? i wouldn't be surprised if that's it for the theme editor from cake

I like to use Moslave's Gold theme. It's very close to ideal for me and more complete than some of the others. It would be great if there was an interface map with a legend. A nice screen shot with all the interface components numbered to a corresponding list of object names. This would really help those with the talent for graphics design.
