+1 on the envelope problem. 

It seems to happen very often when I add a new envelope to a track - the envelope doesn't actually work (no fader movement) until I close and re-open the project. This has been happening for the last several versions and is fairly reproducible.


This happens on tracks recorded in sonar and tracks imported - so i don't think that makes a difference.

I have similar problems with audio envelopes. Enable writing, move some virtual volume faders, and nothing gets recorded. Sometimes quitting and restarting Sonar (8.5) doesn't help, and it gets really frustrating!

If this is a prevalent problem, how do we get Cakewalk to fix it?

I'm having the envelopes not working problem too. I'll tell you what, I wish I could get back the 8.5.3 set up. I've been with 2016 for a couple of months now and my workflow is being crippled.

This is a 6 year old thread and the complaints being made seem to be ABOUT envelopes in 8.5.
 
That was pre X series (which Splat is based on as opposed to the entirely DIFFERENT pre X series versions).
 
Just sayin'... if you are having problems in SPlat you should post a new thread detailing what's happening in SPlat as opposed to this thread which references a long dead version (that based on the OP and follow up posts existed in 8.5 anyway).
 
Also if you REALLY want to use 8.5 there is nothing stopping you from installing it alongside SPlat. It'll still work (but of course Windows has moved along and 8.5 wasn't designed for Win10 or even Win8).
 
Not trying to give you a hard time. Just pointing out that if you are having these issues in Sonar 2016 this thread is not the one to zombify to get an answer.

Cool. Seriously post a new thread though with what you are experiencing in 2016 to get answers for 2016. You WILL get help/confirmation that is more useful from the dudes/dudettes.
 
Personally I've complained about automation in Sonar for a couple years now and avoid it at all costs but others seem to get by okay and can help. A LOT has changed since 8.5 though so it could be as simple as figuring out some of the new methods to get what you want.
