Can anyone give me their opinion if the difference in cost for platinum is worth it? I'm not very good at mixing/eq so the extra tools in platinum would not be helpful/useful to me. I currently use X2 and do very little with eq/effects cause I'm still learning. I'm using 3rd party VST instruments so I wouldn't use the extra instruments. I know platinum offers lifetime updates but I don't update often.
Thanks everyone for your reply.

If you are producing music with it, you should learn to get better at mixing/adding effects (eq, compression, reverb, etc). The tools in Plat make life easier to get pro sounding results in my experience.
I'm not talking about spending all day with minor tweaks, It is just easier to take the sounds you have recorded an make the whole thing sound more professional.
If you are on X2 Professional, I would seriously consider the upgrade if the funds are available to you. I was on X3 Professional, then Upgraded to Producer when a pretty good deal came along to do so. Then upgraded to Plat Lifetime.
Previously I was running an older version of Sonar. The upgrade was certainly worth it for me, and I look forward to not needing to be worried about future system compatibility. All the needed tools are there.
