Just finished re-installing X3 and it did not fix the problem.

I did a system restore to a point about a month ago when everything was working well. It did not fix the problem.

Looks like my last option is upon me. I may have to do a complete Recovery of my hard drive from an iso. image. Unfortunately I've installed a lot of additional things since the last time I made an iso. image, which means I'll have to re-install all those things.

You've all given some really good suggestions and I thank you for that. That being said...

I reeeaaally don't want to do a complete Recovery from an old iso. image. If anyone has any more ideas that might correct this issue that I'm having I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks,
Pete

My last, less drastic suggestion is to do a clean reinstall of X3(e) following these instructions:

If this is what you did already, please disregard.

Sorry I can't think of anything else.

Wow, no I did not uninstall and re-install in that way. I just went to Control Panel>Programs & Features and then did an uninstall. After that I just re-installed X3. I did not delete any of those other registry files mentioned on the page that you linked to in your post. I have a feeling that's probably where the problem lies. That's a great instructional page that you linked to! I would never have thought to do all of that.

I'm going to give that a try as it sounds as though it might just work.

Thanks, I'll let you know how it went.

BobF,
Thanks so much for posting that link. That worked like a charm! Everything is OK again. I followed the instructions very carefully and all worked well. I am so glad! Actually I re-installed Sonar X3 and also the X3e update as well.

Feels good to be up and running again. I was able to un-install/re-install without having to delete/ re-install any plug-ins or templates. I had to make a few tweeks in Preferences (such as folder locations, audio drivers, etc.) but fortunately I remembered most of the settings because I've viewed them so many times in the past. I am so glad I did not have to do a complete system recovery!

Ah, yes...Life is good!

Thanks again!
