They are all very nice...

Too bad bout the colored strips (Mercury) getting lost...

I hope some fix happens for this soon as for me, I'd like a blend of mercury's colored strips (or a modified/outline version) with tungsten's dark frame etc...

+1 dude...

'IS the team at Cakewalk planning on releasing more themes?'

Yes.

Since I don't have Splat, my guess as to why Tungsten lost colored strips is, X1 & 2 use "painted" strip backgrounds. X3 uses transparent strip backgrounds to accommodate the new colored strip feature. Tungsten must be using "painted" backgrounds like X1 & 2 making colored strips inoperable.

It's fair to say that the X series was not originally designed to support all this color and theme changing. As a result, there will be compromises we will have to live with.

To make the X series GUI fully customizable, they will need to re-engineer it from scratch. And that won't be happening anytime soon.

For what it's worth I actually like the way the tracks are coloured in Tungsten. Now that the track name and headers stay at the bottom in console view I don't find it hard to follow.

New themes are so low on my list of priorities for Sonar developers that they have fallen off the bottom of the list. I can see how users who are getting bored with music and have some design talents would want to jazz up their own interface, but I really hope the theme nonsense is not going to take any more development time or money than it already has.

Theme development takes zero development time - it is done by graphic artists. We plan on releasing a new official light theme at some point. It won't be very soon however.
