Hello,

In X3e Studio when I select all midi notes in PRV it alwasy set select region to whole originally clip length although there is no more notes/CC (e.g they were deleted or edited). Is there any way to change this behaviour except manualy bounce to clip ?

Thanks

im guessing there was notes hidden under a clip.
this happens to me once in a while. I DO often "bounce to clips". it stops this from happening.
were any of your clips groove clips, or all reg midi clips ?
not that it matters to much, im just curious.

Apply Trimming should also do the trick and won't destructively apply other edits that you want to leave in place (e.g. muted notes) .

No hidden notes or groove clips.

Just created new midi track, record or draw some notes, then deleted few of them from start or from end. And then when you select all remaining notes it will set select region to whole original clip size. When you don't select all notes it work without any problem.

Its very annoying :(

I wager it would be equally or more annoying to as many or more users if deleting an event at the end of a clip caused the boundary to move away before you could insert a new one into the same clip.

Select by Lasso, and the selection range will encompass only the lassoed events.

By Lasso you mean selecting by "mouse cursor" ?

Right Mouse click and drag to create a "Lasso" around the notes.

Same goes for Track View and clips but ANY part of a clip touched by the lasso will select the ENTIRE clip.

Actually even in PRV if any part of a note is touched by the "Lasso" that note will be included in the lasso selection.

Right Click + Drag is the standard default method to "Lasso" areas/items/etc in many programs and even in OS GUI areas.

Cheers.

I was asking just to be sure if there isn't some another special lasso in Sonar :)

I was doing this. I even tried if there is no difference between SMART mode with right mouse click and SELECT mode with left mouse click. But it works same as CTRL + A. Still selecting empty clip area when selecting all notes.

Okay. I was just being thorough. I think at this point a better question is what is it you are attempting to do and why is this behavior impeding said task? That way a solution/explanation that actually helps you get where you want is more likely.

Cheers.

Let's say I want to just record some short midi sequence, edit few changes and copy/paste it in same track.

But even if I just simple quantize it I can't copy/paste whole sequence properly, because what I copy are notes with that pre-quantize time space on beginning of clip so I can't paste it on specific place.
