Out of curiosity I poked around a bit and found this...

Not sure if that's helpful.

Cheers.

Sonar can't read or write AAF files yet. They are similar to OMF files. Ask them to seen you OMF instead.

I believe OMF files keep the time stamp of the audio file.  It could possibly take less disk space but another option is just export the wave files.  I just did this with 10 songs to a client in Austin.  He's completely cool with it even though the studio there is a ProTools setup.

Dealing with omf and different formats in the past it is easier to ask the client to export each track as a wav and then import into sonar. It will mean any of their creative plugins can be printed to the wav and will save hassle and you can create a clean project.

Thanks guys....I dloaded a demo version of Sony Vegas Edit.  It would cost me 299 to upgrade.  Still could not get the AAF to load.  Client sent me OMFs and is working fine.  I'd like to just tell the client "fine, sure send me anything" .  I'm trying to get a bigger project out of this client otherwise I would not care so much.

Again thanks,  I like coming here with issues,  I feel like I'm not stuck on an island ....

You could try "AnyVideo Converter HD". Don't use it myself but its free for the first 15 conversions. As suggested above though, probably best to get the owner to change the format of the export.

Usually w/ ProTools they send WAV files, tho sometimes the timestamp causes problems.

Sound Forge can open ACC files and export them as Wav, tho that is the long way around for multitrack.
